Banning spammers

Can anyone recommend any mods or state any tips they are using to currently ban/limit the amount of spammers registering on their boards. My numbers have increased significantly. At the moment, the only mod that I am using is the email ban mod that comes preconfigured with over 200,000 known banned spam domains. Any help?

All i can think of is get a bigger, better moderating team.

I don't know if a moderating team will help preventing spammers from even registering. That requires some type of mod.

I highly suggest the mod "new registrant info"

It makes it so easy to go through all new registeres and ban them right there if you want.

Is there any type of mod that will allow a user to search for a domain name in the database that they know is spam and to do mass bans or mass deletes of the users that are spammers? I think that would be an invaluable tool for existing users that are spammers.

Personally I employee the hack that allows you to view member pms. That is where I get 90% of my spam at. Also if they all come from the same site, just change their url base into a censored word. That will stop them. As another said bigger moderator team to catch stuff. Also make them verify their emails. All of these things together will help. I don't see 1 thing doing everything though.
