Please help with logo!
Hi,
I made a simple logo for my site with illustrator and saved it as a gif file (save for web option). When I load it up the site, the quality is decent but I notice some white specs that outline the lettering and image. And against a dark backrgound, the white outline specs are definitely noticeable. Is there a better way of getting my logo up to the site (jpg, etc), or are there adjustments that I should be making to get the best quality for the logo? Does the type of font matter? Thanks so much! |
Honestly, IMO, the best quality you can get is by saving it as a .png file
EDIT: .png AND .jpg |
your best bet is to save the image with the same colored background where logo will be

Hi,
thanks! I hear that png files are still not fully supported across the board on browsers, is that correct. And then with .jpg files, I think the main thing with them is that i can't save them with a transparent background, so if use .jpg, then should I be saving them wih part of the forum background (say a particular color) as the background for the logo? Thanks for your help! Thanks princeton and redline, I must have been typing while you posted. Are there specific adjustments I should be making to make it the best quality possible? There seems to be quite a few adjustments I can make with illustrator. Thanks so much, I'll give it a try! |
