mySQL cannot connect?
My boards run fine and then randomly put out errors and won't load. Any help? I know it's saying "can't connect", but why would it only do this every once in a while and not all the time? Would this be a server problem or a code problem? Error reporting gives me the following error....
Database error in vBulletin : mysql_connect() [<a href='function.mysql-connect'>function.mysql-connect</a>]: Can't connect to local MySQL server through socket '/var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock' (2) /home/tf3131/public_html/forums/includes/class_core.php on line 273 MySQL Error : Error Number : Date : Thursday, February 22nd 2007 @ 07:00:30 PM Script : http://www.talkingfootball.net/forums/cron.php?rand=677659 Referrer : http://www.talkingfootball.net/forums/ Classname : vb_database I just got this other error too.... No offense taken.
It's in plain writing what's going on. If my host told me that I would tell them I am finding a new host and do so. If that is the expected answer from your host, can you please tell me who they are? So, I can make sure to avoid them. I had a very similar problem with one of my hosts, I asked them what the problem was. That attitude that you say your host is giving is what I was experiencing. I pretty much told them to go 'F' themselves after about a few dozen attempts to resolve the issue. I did my research and switched hosts, no software changes. Haven't had that problem with this one. They either tell me straight up what's up, what to look for, and/or tell me how to fix it... or they fix it themselves. |
