mass pm error

i have encountered a weird problem.

i can mass pm every user group except registered members.

this problem started just recently and here is the error code.

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 12582912 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 46 bytes) in /export/home/mu/myfoldername/public_html/includes/class_dm_pm.php on line 460

works perfect for any other usergroup.

any help would be appreciated.

I'm not an expert, but registered users is by far the largest group on your forum I would think. PM'ing so many members at once looks to be eating your server RAM. As I said, im not expert so I can't confirm thats what it is.

Have you thought about mass-emailing instead?

I agree ... I suggest removing or at least find someone to edit the modification so that it doesn't eat up all your memory.

Or,

If possible send to small chunks of people ... don't send to a large group at once.

thanks. i will try sending to a smaller group.

so, does this mean my host/server doesn't have adequate memory for my site?

also, what value in the mass pm hack needs to changed?

your server is ok ... if it didn't give you that warning it would have crashed

Sorry, I don't use the Mass Pm mod found here ... I wrote my own.
