setting up adult category
 

I'm going to have users agree (by posted statement) that they are at least 18 years of age...then i will add them to an 18+ usergroup.

Is there a way I can use this to give this usergroup (and only this one....not admins, mods, or anyone but this usergroup) access to the adult game category?

I have it setup so this usergroup can see all the categories, and all other usergroups can see all but the adult category...yet this isn't working...

do the permissions only look at primary usergroup?...they way i have it set should work if secondary groups are looked at...so it seems they aren't...

or am i just not doing it correctly?

in group-permissions you must set all groups to disallow access to category "adult" and only allow this to the usergroup "adult allowed" or whatever you name them.

make sure none of the categories is set to "show all YES"

it is set like that already, which is why I came here

it seems like it's not reading the secondary usergroup...

At first you might have to do a bit of work getting all the users to enter their proper bdays into the user cp. Also, you will need to have users enter their bday at registration, but once done the mod works great last a long time.

thanks for that mod louis...but that really doesn't help me...

i've already got a way to put the 18+ users in a custom usergroup...i just can't get the arcade to only allow that one usergroup access to that category of games

still haven't gotten this to work yet...

Ok, I fixed that for upcoming v2.6.1+ by re-writing the whole group- and category-permission-check function :)
