Hi,

I am looking for a Mod that provides me with the functionality that is visible on this site:

http://www.innerned.net/innerforums/index.php

On top of the forumlist there's this 'Nieuws(News)' bar where messages from the boardadmin are displayed with a fade-effect.

What I would like to see is a Mod that can handle the following:

- Display a text (with full bbcode support... so I can provide links to my Announcement-forum for example) on forumhome
- Provide different effects (fade in/out, or no effect at all)
- Maybe provide a button named [Read]. When a user clicks on this button, the news-section will dissappear the next time he/she visits the site. And it will re-appear again if there's a new news item.

That's it.

I am convinced that this will result in much more attention from my members/visitors for my announcements.

I think this is a built in function for the smf forums software.

hopefully it can be replicated :)

I'll look at my backup SMF from before I migrated to vBulletin and see how this works.

EDIT: Looks doable. The ideal would be adding this to the datastore (I don't like using queries). This would require 1 easy index.php file edit, but as I mentioned I don't like using queries.
