unmoderated posts by usergroup or user?

Some of our forums are set up for moderating, so everything has to be approved by a mod. But there is one user group (we do not want to give moderator ability to them or anything like that) who we want to be able to post without it having to be moderated/approved for a particular forum.

It would be more work, but it could also be on a user level if that is what is required.

I am probably just missing a very simple thing. I jsut don't see it and need another set of eyes. Thanks!

On usergroups' area in Admin pc find "manage usergroups"
Then find post/threads permissions for the group you want to post without to be moderated.
You will see at the lower choise
"Follow Forum Moderation Rules
If no, posts are always placed into moderation queue"
Set this option to ---> NO and the user of this usergroup will be allowed to post without moderation.

If you want to set a non-moderation status for this group in ONE or TWO subforums only then follow the "Forums & Moderators" in the admin cp ----->forum permission ----> choose the subforum you like and set the permissions seperately for each forum and usergroup.

Hope i help.

regards, Nik

Thank you. I will try that.

I guess what always threw me off about using that is where it says

Quote:

If no, posts are always placed into moderation queue
I took that to mean that if set to NO, it WOULD always go to moderation. I will know shortly! Thanks again!

btw, I will be using the group in just SOME forums, so the second suggestion is the way I went.

EDIT/AFTERNOTE

This did not work. Members of this usergroup still go into the moderation queue. The permission is set to NO. But it is like that did not make any difference. Both users who have it set to YES and to NO are all going to the moderation queue.

I did find this thread

and will give it a shot.
