Server Load and Memory Issues. Modification doing this?
For the last few months, and worse now than in the past, our VPS at Monksdiner has been using all it's resources and crashing. After determining it was in fact monksdiner, and not another site on the VPS, I started going through error messages and processes, but haven't been able to pinpoint the problem. Perhaps someone here has first hand knowledge of which one, or more of the following Modifications could use extreme amounts of memory (seems the server keeps maxing out kmemsize). So, here is a list of modifications at monks. Any thoughts on this? You opinion is appreciated.

try disable pconnect.

Yeah, I do not, and have not been using persistent connections. The host was wrong on that being the issue. Thanks for the reply though.

How about your traffic?
Concurrent users based on your cookie timeout? You may need to upgrade. :) |
Traffic is 20-25GB a month. Uniq Visitors at 20-22K a month...
I'm more concerned about this: What is "sleep"... those items they say have been sleeping forever... Is it normal to have items sleeping, or should they clear. I've been looking for a answer on this, and came accross posts of others that had similar issues, and saw things in sleep state.. but again. I have no idea what this is... only that the host blames those for my problems. If they are normal, then I believe yes, I probably need to upgrade my memory to handle the sleep items that are eating up my existing memory. Out of curiousity, has no one from the vb staff seen this??? |
