User Activation Email & Referrals
 

Hey folks
I was just wondering something about the user referral system. Does the system count one referral if someone signs up through a link but does not activate their account through the activation email? Or does the system only count a referral for each user that is activated?

While I may be completely mistaken, in my 3.5.4 I always thought that referrals were only considered if the new member entered the username of the person who referred them during the registration process.

Oh, well there are also referral URLs. To see an example, go to Thread Tools > Email this Page and look at the URL for the page, it includes a referrer id.
