Prune the members list of a single user group?

We have an open enrollment usergroup that we would like to prune/delete the membership from time to time.

Is there a way to do this easily? I am picturing a page with the members of the group listed and a checkbox next to each that says "Remove member from group" That way I could check multiple names and remove them.

Or, do I have to go to each individual member and uncheck their membership one at a time?

Thanks!

This will be the only way that I am aware of. Clicking on Show all primary (or secondary) members and then editing them one at a time. It would be nice to see some ajax in there similar to the way you can edit threads, may be a good future recommendation for Jelsoft. :)

If this is both a public joinable usergroup and a secondary usergroup, then there is a little cheat that you can use to mass prune members.

First, in the usergroup manager add yourself as a usergroup leader for that group.

Then go to your usercp > group memberships and click on list members.

Check all the users you want to prune, and then click remove from group.

You can the remove yourself from being the usergroup leader again.

EXCELLENT! That is PERFECT!

I can't think of any reason not to just remain the usergroup leader, so I will just leave that intact and then I can purge the group whenever it's needed.

Thank you! I was getting tired of going into the DB and hand editing :(

Just a little heads up though:

If you are a usergroup leader, then all usergroup join requests will need processing by you. If you want it all to be automatic for your users, then don't use usergroup leaders.

Ah... the catch. Thanks for the heads up. We DO want it all automatic. So, I guess I will add myself as leader on prune day, then remove myself when it's done. That's not too bad.
