PM auto reply

Did you consider installing pm auto reply? It would be a great thing for all of us.For instance when we are going on holiday and people need something they just get a pm telling them that I come back in a week.

Marco van Herwaarden 01-07-2007 09:15 AM

No we did not consider that.

Ziki 01-07-2007 09:16 AM

That's a no or yes?

It'd be good thing for us coders, when we get bombarded with support requests when we get back from our holiday.

I never enable auto-replies because of the possibility of a loop (yes, it happens). You have auto-reply enabled and so do they. You send them an email in the midst of your holiday or whatever and then go away and do whatever. You come back to find that they auto-responded, then your auto-responder auto-responded to them, then theirs did...and so on until one of you turns it off. It can make your server really quite sorry indeed.

Then again, for all I know some systems have protection against this. :D

Hellcat's pm auto reply doesn't do that. When both have it enabled only one sends the auto reply
