Doing some basic sql on the forum database

In vBulletin 2 I had some code which just returned the contents of a particular post to another application, and it looked like this

require("global.php");



$post = $DB_site->query("select pagetext from post where postid=12345");



$posttext = $DB_site->fetch_array($post);

$text = $posttext[0];



echo("$text");

This no longer works in vb3. Can anyone tell me the equivalent statements needed?
