Christmas stuff

Is there a way for me to have Christmas emoticons now, but when the holidays are over turn them off for new posts? But, and here is the but, have them still be seen in older posts?

I dropped insome holiday emoticons and gave them a unique code so they sit after the regular emoticons.

Now I am just wondering how I turn them off in january and back on next December.
