Donation system request
 

Hello guys and girls, i'd like to request a new donation system to be build with additional features. i've seen this on a site and i think it would be a great idea if it would intergrate with vBulletins forums.

Anyway since i'm not good enough to code this myself (i'm a complete n00b) i've got written down some specifications to which i'll try to explain in detail so people can make this system without a problem.

Anyways, what this system is, is like a paypal donation system to which a user can donate any ammount or a set ammount to a designated paypal address (like the hack "paypal donate"), but with the addition to this i was thinking of having a space (like a secondary navbar) to which would have AJAX code to automatically show how much everyones donated and a link to a page which shows who has donated. for example:

Donation navbar: [ Monthly target: £($)xxx.xxx Current Status: £($)xxx.xxx<-(AJAX) Goal Status: Reached/not reached<-(AJAX) List of Contributers<-(link to Donations.php) About Donations <-(link to supportus.php) ]

a breakdown of these features are as follows:

Monthly Target: This would be editable in the ACP or if someone could also make it so its changeable by admins on the forums itself for example:

Monthly Target
The monthly goal your site aims to reach: [text box]

Currency
Please select the currency of your donations: [drop down box]

Paypal address
The address of the donations account: [text box]

Paypal Currency
The currency you wish users to donate in [drop down] (or a lookup to "currency")

Current Status: This would be in Ajax which showed the real time donation amount (all added together).

this would be a link to a PHP script similar to WOL, only it doesn't have to be in AJAX (though would be nice) this would show a list of members who have contributed but not the ammount (this could be an option in the ACP to show donated ammounts), if possible using the same layout as WOL would be great.

A link to a PHP script thats like a help topic kinda thing. basically just a normal page using whatever skin is selected by the user which contains just text which an admin could write in the ACP about the donation system and how it works and things and how to support the forums.

Goal Status: Reached(Unreached)

this would just be a line of text to which if the target is reached then the text "Reached" appears in green and if not then the text "Not Reached" appears in red, this would be in AJAX to.

Other information:

I was thinking about this and if its possible to have a cron job or something which would erase the current donation stats monthly that would be awsome.

Ummmm, AJAX would be a waste in the "secondary navbar" because it's not like someone's going to donate every second...

well i figured an auto updating one would be useful, and also in addition to this you'd need an Ajax system for vBadvanced and other portal systems. if someone was to code this for either the navbar or vBadvance or both, that would be awsome.

i am also looking for this type of mod.

if anyone decides to take this one up i'd gladly donate for the hard work.

If this mod is created for 3.6.x i will gladly sling $20 their way.

yeah its a nice system i saw and would of liked someone to build it since i'm only a PHP n00b....

where did you see it? maybe it's already been created if it's in use.

its avaliable for v3.5.x and kinda works on 3.6.x but not very well. if i see the mod i will link to it.
