IPB seems to be catching up to us Hack-wise.

Just throwing that out there... but look they have the army system (I am working for a vbulletin version currently.), they have a working casino system... and alot of other "little things" that vbulletin is lacking.

A link to IPB's full releases for the version before the most recent (because the most recent doesn't have much out yet.):

http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/c/182

This is a link to 2.1 invision modification's root: http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/c/172

I seriously don't mean to seem like I am promoting IPB I don't even own the software, it just appears that Vbulletin is beginning to lose it's edge in the hacking community. Again... I am not a contributing coder to vb.org so I have no right to complain, I am just throwing this out there for discussion.

Look at the bright side mate.. vBulletin is more secure and mush faster than IPB.. lots of people are migrating to vBulletin now..

I can see they have 18 Hacks in 2006 created, that's really a lot.

Attilitus 12-17-2006 06:09 AM

Ummm... no you just looked at the ones under the 'full modification category" out equivalent of vbplaza, ect. mods.

this is a link to all mods for invision 2.1: http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/c/172

this is a link to all mods for invision 2.2: (newly released):

http://mods.invisionize.com/db/index.php/c/227

So... yea... they have a hell of alot more mods than 18.

vbulletin is still superior in my mind... but it kinda scares me that invision is becoming a viable, and (in terms of including certain features) more desirable alternative. With that said... VB FOR LIFE!

Why does it matter to you what they are doing? A little dramatic to say it scares you:confused: It seems you are taking this a little too personally.

but one thing is IPB mods are free to download without licence or anything.. so even though they using nulled version of IPB they still can get mods..

vBulletin THEN DAYLIGHT 12-17-2006 01:01 PM

Why would I want to go to IPB?

I am not a skilled designer - the IPB default theme is messy and ugly, and demands much more playing with than the vB one to look good. The vB theme in fact looks excellent without any sort of major modification at all.

vBulletin's customer service, support, speed to fix bugs, quality of coding etc. is second to none. Absolutely superb.

I have looked at Invision, it is a good product, cheaper, but I think vBulletin is overall a much better product and I have no intentions whatsoever of switching for the sake of a few gimmicky hacks.

Customer service, Mod support, new mods coming all the time, and better mods are some of the things I enjoy vbulletin for. Some other reasons are speed, security, and the overall flexibility of the software. Vbulletin > IPB
