Login problems

Hi, All,

Over the last two or three days, I've had numerous members contact and tell me that their login info is not being remembered.

These are all old, established members that are very familiar with the forum and knows how their accounts work. They are either not able to log in, being asked to reset their password, or when trying to post a reply or thread, they get a message saying that the thread doesn't exist, or that they don't have permission to post. When they go back and try again, it generally works correctly.

Also, many have said that, just out of the blue, their settings for viewing posts in forums was inexplicably reset to view only threads from the last day.

Both me and the other admin on my board have had problems with being logged out completely and having to log in again (as well as check the "remember me" box) and trying to post and getting the message that the thread doesn't exist.

Is there something I can check to see what is going on? A setting somewhere?

I'm not terribly experienced with this sort of things, so explicit instructions would be good. :) My tech is very busy at the moment; he's moving his store to a new building and having to also find (and then move) his servers (which my website is on!) to a new colocation facility because the current one is closing, so I really don't want to bother him right now if I can possibly figure out this problem and fix it on my own.

make sure your ADMINCP / VBULLETIN OPTIONS / Cookies and HTTP Header Options set correctly

if you have edited your templates in any manner (or use a custom style) run tests on the default vbulletin style

test for a few days with default style ...
if that doesn't work ... disable all plugins

Okay, I just checked that and they are the same as they have always been, nothing has changed there.

Oh, dear.........I have NO IDEA how my techguy has edited the templates and yes, we do run a custom style, but I know nothing about it.......

I suppose I will have to bother him with this after all? :(
