I'm desperately looking for an import tool to get my UltraBoard 2k (v2.10) posts into vB. It's kinda urgent, but I guess it always is, right? ;)

Is there such a tool/hack, if yes, where can I get it?

I'm also looking for a way to import my UlraBoard data into vBulletin. I love the speed of this board and the features it has so much. I don't see why it would be very difficult to import the UB's mySQL tables into vBulletin's...

With RC1 out, is there anyone who is willing to help a poor schmock like me with his UB2k conversion...? Please?

Hello

I'm currently using an UltraBoard (UB2K) in the latest version.
Because it is really slow with just a 1000 topics and 20-50 users in peak I'm thinking about using vBulletin.
If there would be a possibility to import my messages into vBulletin I'd consider this step.

I made the switch from Ultraboard to VB and couldn't be happier. I had about 500 members on Ultraboard and made the switch even without the conversion script. My users were kinda pissed at this, but once they got used to the new VB with the features and speed, everybody was happy.

Personally, I was disappointed in the Ultraboard. :(
there was no support and it was LOADED with problems.

2600 users, 13500 posts. My users kill me if I do that (ditching everything and starting from scratch).

I would also like to have this conversion. If I could only convert my UB2K mySQL database I would already be a VB owner :). I'm willing to hand over the most up-to-date version of UB2K to someone to develope a conversion for it

hi,

maybe it will not be difficult to import...

about two months ago i do the same with the wwthreads forum...

but much handwork because there is no convert script ;)...

Ok i bought VB and looked at at it. From what I see UB2K MySQL uses the perl crypt() function for the passwords (which is one-way encryption and I know of no method to decrypt) so the only option I see is to import the encrypted password and use some type of encryption with VB for password verification (headache?) I am an extreme nubie to this but does this sound right?
