want to knw one thing

can we upgrade our forum from 3.0.1 to 3.6.4?

or do we have to upgrade step by step like 3.0.1 to 3.0.2 to 3.0.3 and continue?

No you don't you can upgrade from 3.0.1 to 3.6.4
Read the instructions read me file in the zip of 3.6.4 :)
