how do i make my xml work with 3.5?

I have a 3.6.x XML product file that i want to work with 3.5

The actual hack code should all be compatible with 3.5, but the xml code has stuff that 3.5 doesnt... like plugin execution order, and scheduled tasks and stuff.

So how can i make my product file work with 3.5?
