i cant Backup my Database ? (400mb)
 

hi ,
my database big and phpmyadmin and vb. backups burst uponing my database for my post table.
post table is 200mb. how can i backup my database to ftp and my pc as Gzip'ped ?:surprised:

Do you have ssh access to your server? If so, use 'mysqldump' to get the data and 'gzip' to compress. You can then move the file into a web or ftp accessible directory and download it to your local computer.

phpmyadmin is not very good at database backups. I use SSH and the only problems I have is when I mis-type something. :)

I use mysqldumper, free and very easy, you don't need ssh access.

Wow thats alot of mysql i hired a management company to do backups for me its much better

lol you act like having a databas 10 times mine is a bad thing?
