Search Hack - search using a variable in a string

Hi,

I want to send a URL string containing a variable that is to be searched.

So you can click on a link something like this:

http://www vbulletin.org/forum/search.php?variabletype=variable

and the search results are returned for 'variable'.

Let me know if this is simple or if it is possible.
