Back up question
 
I am having a serious problem with my dedicated server’s admin control panel. I can not access my sites via the server, but can access via FTP.

My server company will be cleaning my server and installing cPanal. They said they will download all of my sites but it would be smart to create some back ups via FTP.

I need to know is it safe to use a database downloaded directly from the vB ACP. I can download the entire site from the FTP and the database from the vB ACP. My plan is to turn off the site, download 3-4 databases that day as a back up.

Are there any tips or suggestions? Am I planning this well?

Besides the fact if you have a dedicated server, that usually means your site is pretty large. Backing up via FTP is probably going to take a while...a long while
