weird empty row in header and footer

my forum was just fine, but then I installed some hacks/mods some time ago, and then noticed in IE that there are empty rows in the header and footer.

It doesn't show in Firefox (which I use myself) it looks fine, but it does in IE (both 6 and 7).

SInce I didn't knew when it the problem started, I uninstalled most products, disabled the remaining and reversed all templates. But I still have these horrible bars.

In showthread the rows appear in the head and in the bottom of the page (an extra one when the quickreply is enabled), and in forumdisplay.php there's only the empty row in the bottom.

Does anyone know what i might be and where (or in what part of the templates) I have to search?

Is your spacer_open or spacer_closed custommized?
