Cron Job: Update Post Count

Could someone help me make a cron job that would update post counts every x minutes/hours. I'm looking for it to do the exact same thing that the "Update Counters" does for the post counts.

Thanks.

I think you need to explain exactly what it is you want this to do, and why - rather than rely on people knowing what you mean by "the exact same thing that the Update Counters does for the post counts". Since post counts are updated when you post, I don't understand what you are trying to do, neither I expect does anyone else. Therefore you won't get any replies.

I didn't think it was that hard to understand. My apologies.

I want a cron job that does the exact same thing that the Update Counters does for the post counts. Hmm. That's the same thing I said before. How could I explain myself differently? I don't think there is a way.

Basically, when you delete a post, it does not update their posts correctly. I made a custom plugin for my postbit that creates a number based on your post count. Unless I run the Update Counters on the posts, it doesn't update that members number.

All I want... is a cron job that does the exact same thing that the Update Counters does for the post counts. I don't know how to say it better than that.

Yarub,

Did you ever find a solution to achieve this as that is exactly what I am looking to achieve too ...

Basically my board has some sort of error on it and I cannot for the life of me find out what has gone wrong - but occassionally something happens that causes some members post counts to drop back down to zero - but not all members..

I would like a cron job please that runs the "update post counts" once every hour

Help please.

Simon
