Mass PM for v3.6.x

I did a search and it looks like no one has ported a mass PM hack to 3.6.x yet...

I'd rather be able to send everyone a PM vs. an email for minor announcements...

it is built in... or is that a welcome PM? Hmmm

DaNIEL MeNTED 10-17-2006 10:18 PM

Yup... I do have an automated welcome PM configured.

I don't like the idea of spamming people's email with messages unless its critical - I'd like to be able to plonk a PM into people's inbox. The mass mail function in the admin CP would be great if it also did PMs.

There was a mod for 3.5 but I'm not sure if someone is working on porting it or if it will work without any problems on 3.6.x

I have Super Private Message (ver. 1.0.4) hack in 3.6.2 aind it's working fine. Only with 3.5.x when trying to send PMs for 20.000 users at the same time the sistem crashed (blank page). In 3.6.2 i've never tryed so far.

Installed in 3.6.2 with the 3.6.x version of superpm.php attached in the thread and it appears to work just fine... (Except when PM'ing admins where I get two copies.) Thanks!

While on subject having just upgraded to 3.6.2 IS THERE A WAY via vbulletin to mass email from a list of valid addresses (not spam) non-members so I can invite them to join????? I run a company related site.

(ie: does a hack exist where I can place addresses in the post database perhaps and have a php script draw them out and process/send an email message??)

There's an invite hack for 3.5.x which is supposed to work with 3.6.2... I presume you could install it and toss yourself a large number of invites, then dump the emails in the correct format and paste into the invite script.
