A question that can't be answered...
Somehow in this magazine it says Al Gore invented the internet..
I could find about 10 different site with 10 different answers... Question is: Who invented the internet? :paranoid: . . . :bored: |
The origins of the Internet are during the Cold War - when Russia launched Sputnik. It caused the United States to realize its need for a country-wide network in the event of a nuclear attack.
Projects began and people built off each others work and finding and eventually created what is known as the Internet. Also - the amount of growth in terms of user base of the Internet was unimaginable when the WWW was created. If you want specifics, I suggest you go to your local library and research it. It is pretty interesting. |

As I understand it, Al Gore never claimed to have invented the internet. People either misquoted, embellished or took his statements out of context to come to that conclusion.

Are you referring to the Tonight Show?

I meant that he came as a guest on the Tonight Show and stated that he had contributed to the internet as we know it. His statements were true, as a congressman he did help to promote and expand the internet; allowing companies and people in the game to do their thing.
I'll have to take a look at your clip to see where he was coming from. |
