Easy one to answer

Hi all,

Sorry for the silly question but i am unsure how to do this.

I have had gthe standard Vbulletin skin for ages and have finally found a skin i like. I just a few questions.

A- If i implement a new skin, do i have to find all the template changes i made and re-implement them?
B- Is there a step by step procedure to doing this?
C- Does the skin change also show through on CMPS?

Really appreciate any help.

Shayne

A) Only if your new skin is considered a Parent style. If your style is a "child" of your default then in should inherit all the changes that the default one has.
B) None if you use it as a child style. If you use it as a parent style you will have to reapply each and every change (for every hack or individual modification).
C) Yes, it should.

I have applied the style as a child style but certain things are not coming through such as latest posts (which appear on my default style) and a few other things. Why is this?

Sometimes things have to be altered - due to the way styles are handled. I have styles that work well from parent to style, but on the flip side there are certain template that I have to "rewrite" or "alter" on my child style because it isn't behaving properly - it isn't inheriting the parent template - or the default behavior that I need isn't working. I personally don't understand this, but I understand this to be because my styles vary much farther than the norm. A default style as a child style should act correctly.

If the child style has a modified template then it doesn't inherit the template from the parent so you will need to reapply the changes to that template.
