No permissions

Lately, a lot of the posts have been telling me I have no permissions to read messages.

Is there a new settings somewhere?

peterska2 10-04-2006 02:37 PM

can you provide a link to an example?

Lionel 10-04-2006 02:42 PM

I just got a pm telling me to take a look at
https://vborg.vbsupport.ru/showthread.php?t=128248

And it has been more than once. I have been here since 2001 and am licensed, have been downloading hacks etc...

And I also want to add, that for both vb.com and vb. org, sometimes I receive the PM notification days later after an answer was posted. For example, I still have not received a notification for your reply here.

If the post or thread has been deleted, as in the example, then it will result in a no permission message.

Notification emails can be delayed due to the amount going through the server.

OK, all along, I was blaming the no permissions message on what I believe that I read somewhere about a lot of the hacks having gone to zoints, but this specific message here was just sent to me by PM by someone I don't know, so I could not make sense why I could not read it, unless it is some spammer and you deleted the post.

And I did not even get the new PM notification. It so happened I was visiting.

If you, or anyone else, recieve any more PM's like this, please forward them to myself.

Instant simply means that vbulletin passes it to a mail server straight away, not queues it for the daily/weekly digests. How the mail passes through the internet is beyond it's control. :)

Must be that famous PM I send him with 15 others asking to vote for us in the BOTM poll!

It's maybe wrong for me to ask by pm to look and vote for us, but it's also wrong that we have 150K members here at vb.org and in what, 4 - 5 days only 20 people had seen the poll.

Since one of the coders and I work our asses of to bring our members the best thing they can get, because there is no other forum within our scene like us, we hoped that some coders would see the work that went into it and would appreciated the work we had done by voting for us.

But since I'm not allowed to do this, Im sorry as I already posted an apology in that thread that is now moved away from the public.

It's also sad that so many before you guys, that have posted in that thread made such a big pooha about it all, because where is the community spirit that was ones here at vb.org

I'm one of the oldest members around and I have seen it all here.

I was just so excited to see our forum listed in the BOTM poll, for that I asked for help, is that wrong, probably is, because now everybody is looking at me like I'm evil, i'm a spammer and on top of that my site is disqualified from the poll.

And do you know, I don't even care, it would have been cool to have that icon on my site, but we don't need it, we have already been awarded by the big guys, Microsoft as we couldn't get a better award for what we do with our site.

And please don't tell me that others it this current poll didn't aksed their buddies to vote, because we all know that happend.

So again, I'm sorry I asked by PM.

I hope you all have a great day, I will.
