keep user logged in

Hi guys

I run a membership based website and the user table is shared with vbulletin. so if an user joins the website then they join the forums at the same time.

Only problem being is whe the user clicks on to the forums from the main site. the user shows up as not logged in on the forums

any help would be appreciated

any ideas?
