"Disable smilies" button in quick relpy

You know how, when posting a new thread, there is a "disable smilies" button at the bottom to keep smilies from being parsed?
it seems like it would be simple enough, but I don't know coding that well (I've already tried several times to do this myself and failed) :(
Can anyone help me out here?
