Install hacks, suggestion

Hey,

I have a suggestion,

Well, at vB Hackers, i saw you had to click "Install" before downloading, but i suppose it can be a pain if you download the mod', and don't use it, ie, you don't like it etc...

Well, i was thinking, how about...
When a user downloads a modification, (the attachment), after 1 hour or so, (if they havn't clicked install), they get a Pm, reminding them to click install if they did use it...

For example,
Quote:

Hey Username,

We noticed you download X_mod.
If you installed it, why not click Install, to get updates and show your appreciation to the creator? :)

Thanks.

Somthing along those lines. :)

I think it would be a great little feature. :)

Thanks for reading.

This is already planned sometime after we move to 3.6, not for an hour though, I think a week was the time mentioned. :)

Sounds like a good idea. Look forward to seeing this!

wont that just mean loads of pms flying around as lets face it - how many of us download hacks and then think nope dont want to install it etc.

Some time si just grab some to have a look at code etc but dont mean i install.

Oh, you do have a point there. I'm not sure how they would do that now lol.

Like I said, it's just an idea planned atm, the exact details haven't been considered, but it will probably be something like - the first time you download a modification after it's last updated time, a flag will be set - then x days later, if the flag is set, and you haven't marked it as installed, a PM will be sent, and the flag unset again. I don't think that will mean 'loads' of PM's flying about. :)

Ah, hopefully it will go ahead.

It's great news anyway! :)
