User selects amount?

I'm setting a couple of paid subscriptions.
I was wondering if it was possible for the user to input their own amount.
I realize I could add a donation mod/plugin, but the subscriptions add the user to the said group automatically.
This way people won't get lost in my emails or get forgotten to be add to the said group.
