Cleaning up boards - fresh install - keeping users
I run www.diablo3.com, its had a rough life, very bad coding on the layout, its been chopped up many times. We lost everything when we first started and backed up and merged 2 boards.
The fear is this, that game gets announced it will be one of the largest gaming fansites on the internet, so I would like to start fresh. MY question is this.. The board has some plugins, and has vbadvanced. I want to start with a fresh install of vbulliton, and I want to important all my users, all my threads, all my forums. What I do not want to keep is any of the old design, any of the old vbadvanced. I just want a fresh clean install with all my threads, forums and 30 thousand posts and 4300 members. So I can then install a brand new theme/style and vbadvanced. |
Just do a fresh install with new database and use the importer supplied at vbulletin.com to import all your data. At least that is what I would think you would need to do.
Warning: Install the new forums in a seperate directory and once it is up and functioning then delete the old version. |
There's an importer? I'll have to check that out...we have the same issue.
