PHP & MySQL cusing slowdown on Windows
We just moved to a new server, with a company that only mainstains Windows servers. They installed PHP5 and MySQL 5 for us. I believe it was after I created a database on MySQL that MySQL started taking up the bulk of the server's resources. It slowed everything down to where the sites were virtually useless. The host replaced MySQL 5 with MySQL 4, but the problem persisted. The slowdown stops as soon as the MySQL extention on PHP is disabled.
I have remote access to the server, but I don't even know where to begin to look for where the problem might be, or how to troubleshoot it. The host made it clear that while they would install PHP and MySQL, they won't support them. Can someone help me figure this out? Thanks, Diane |
