How do I... allow users to "emote"?

Hey there, I'd like to set up a way for my users to "emote"

Similar to IRC, if they type

/me laughs

it would parse it as:

*Kitykatze laughs*

Anyone know of a way to do this? I'm not getting a lot of joy searching in the Docs.
