(re)implementing vbmenu-type of search box

Hello,

I recently bought a style for my 3.6 board that I hope to implement soon after making some changes. The strange part is that they took out or disabled the search box function that drops down out of the navbar. This is oddly one of my fav easy features of vB. I asked for help and they sent me here.

Can anyone point the way or give me any suggestions for how to reimplement this search box?
