Cant upload large size attachments
Im having trouble uploading attachments to my forum. I have it hosted on godaddy and I changed the php.ini file as follows:
register_globals = off allow_url_fopen = off upload_max_filesize = 50M post_max_size = 50M and I changed the attachment size in vbulletin control panel to allow for this and I still get a timeout error when trying to upload something larger than like 4 megs or so. Keep in mind my board doesnt get a lot of traffic and the large sizes are primarily for temporary use to avoid email limitations and I wont have to make a specific ftp account for people. Also keep in mind file sizes have been growing with modern applications even with zip files.....make a 30 second video on your camera and BAM you got a 12 meg file. What kind of tweaks am I forgetting here? I want to get armed with info before I consult my hosting support to ask them to change anything and need to know what to change. anything from someone doing the same thing would be much appreciated. |
your hosts needs to do it and u wont get 50 meg either.
Im sure its limited by PHP so max would be 8 meg. Send an email to your host m8 asking them to upp the limit |
They can change it if the have access to the php.ini file which since they edited they must have access to.
Anyway, good luck with godaddy hosting support  What kind of server are you on VPS or dedicated? and what is the line speed to that. Try to change the values for these variables as well. And if there isnt any particular reason not to turn alllow_url_fopen back on maybe. max_execution_time max_input_time memory_limit |
