Prevent bumping of old threads

Sometimes my forum member somehow find a thread that is like 2 years old and for some reason reply in it - a thing that gets it to the first page. So I was thinking, instead of using an auto-close mod, a mod I'd prefer would be one that would just prevent it from getting to the top. I mean they would still be able to reply - it just wouldn't bump the thread up in case the thread is x days/weeks old.
