RPG Hack and performance on large boards
Hello,
I installed the RPG hack on a testboard last spring, it works great. Then I installed it on the production board, but it's not public yet. The whole board started to crawl. The board is pretty large and used, so I considered it to be just a final straw. The server hardware is upgraded now, and the hack still makes it crawl. And not a bit, it's like a huge query putting everything on hold. Recall that the hack isn't even used yet, only the fact that it's activated in the plugin manager causes great lag. Is this a know problem? Is there for example indeed a huge query or something or am I the only one having this and is something wrong in my install? |
It happens on showthread I assume?
If so, then it would be cause that it's trying to cache the RPG stats of every single user. You can counter this by running the RPG User Cache maintenance function. If that's not the cause, then I don't know what's wrong, since I have seen it installed on quite a few large boards. |
Thank you Revan, I'll try that.

Update: that certainly fixed it.
