preventing new members form accessing certain forums
Hi all
How do I prevent new members from accessing certain forums on my board until they have made a certain number of posts? I want the particular forum to be inaccessible until they have made 10 posts? I can't find anything in the admin cp to do this. Thanks in advance for any help received. Regards Haddockman |
make them join a new usergroup when 10+ posts are made, and then just changing the perms on each usergroup ;)

I have an answer for you...
Admin CP>>Usergroups>>promotions From there, you may select a usergroup, and the desired method of their promotions. Either post count, or reputation, or both. MAKE SURE that you set your fourm permissions also, to reflect the upgraded users to be allowed access... Oh, and if someone reaches 10 posts, they are put in a que, and updated along with the scheduled tasks, usually on the hour, so they may not be able to gain access to the forum right away. I guess my point is, you may want to mention this in your FAQ. Hope I was of help. -damon |

How will this affect the users that already have more posts than the required amount to be promoted to the new user group?
