add a step to contact form? ctop spammers and easy to answer questions from noobs
 

I get a TON of emails every day from people who simply need to fill out a password request form...

And I also get a ton of spam via my contact form.

Is there any way to use captcha or another form of spam repellent before a contact message is sent? And in the same motion, tell people to click the lost password link before harrassing the admin?

I added text above my contactus template informing users that if they email a question ti maybe up to 96 hours for a response.

Then i have them a few useful links, and a link to the problem forum where guests are allowed to post. See the screen shot.

Add this to your Additional CSS area for your skins. (admincP -> Style Manager -> Main CSS -> All the way at the bottom)

Feel free to change the CSS properties to anything you wish.

I'd still like to see some sort of captcha before the user is allowed to send an email, because I have already gotten 4 of these today:

vBOptions > Site Name / URL / Contact Details > Allow Unregistered Users to use 'Contact Us'

Yes Thank you, I had the same problem, I had the image thing but not set to verify, is that how spammers are getting into our forums?

I have the image link when you sign up a new user but does it verify it?

image verification for registration is either on or off, there is no in between.
