display pics on home page

Hi

How do I show pictures on my forum home page?

For example, like this home page: www.420times.com/forums/

Thanks!

Admincp/style manager/edit templates/forum home template/forum home

You need to edit this template (copy and save the original into notepad first) with something like this. In your example the code is placed below the code for the nav bar.

Code:

<table class="tborder" cellpadding="$stylevar[cellpadding]" cellspacing="$stylevar[cellspacing]" border="0" width="100%" align="center">
<tr>
        <td class="tcat" align="center">Gallery</td>
</tr>

<table border="15" width="100%" cellpadding="20" cellspacing="0">
<tr>
<td align="center"><a href="index.php"><img src="images/gallery/boat.jpeg" border="0" alt="Global Family Forum" /></a><br />
Submitted by andy</td>

<td align="center"><a href="index.php"><img src="images/gallery/airshow043xm.jpeg" border="0" alt="Global Family Forum" /></a><br />
Submitted by Mandy</td>

</tr>
</table>

The code above produces my gallery banner and table cells for my images and my image links for 2 pictures; obviously you will need to play with the code to get as many table cells as you want and it will also depend on the size of the images you are going to use

You also need to put your images in a folder or directly into the image folder on your server.

The above code producers the table with 2 pictures shown here

If you are not used to editing your templates, making tables etc a very useful site to visit and work your way through is www.w3schools.com. The HTML and XHTML sections are very very useful.

And dont forget to always make a copy of your template before you start altering it.

Happy playing.

Karen

PS if you visit my forum (link in sig below) you will see my arcade and quiz banner on my forum home index page, this is done in the same way as the above code.
