Child forums

Im sorry if this has been asked many a time before

But how do I get all the sub forums to show in the title box for the main forum. If that makes sense. You know where it shows the main forum description, then sub forums and click able links

I have been into the forum listing display options and altered depth of forums/forum display with no luck and its doing my head in trying to find what needs to be altered
