Please Help?
I have tried long and hard to upload files from my cpu to an FTP server with no success.
Can some tell me how? Do I need to create a folder to work from? How do I know after drag and dropping files that the file is actually there? Please help me. |
The best way to do this is to get a good FTP programme. FlashFXP is very popular and is also the one that I use. It's very easy to use and has a 30 day trial. You can also set it to save the information for your site so that you just need to select the site that you wish to connect to. This is very useful if you regularly connect to multiple sites, but even if you just need to connect to one, it saves having to look up the FTP username and password every time you go to connect.

no, if your forum is on your domain root (eg www.yousite.com/index.php is your forums hompage) then you need to upload the files to your www or public_html directory (if you have one). if your forums are in a directory (eg www.yousite.com/forum/index.php is your forum index) then you need to navigate to the forum folder on your server before uploading any files.

Once I connect tp FTP, and click local folders--It's blank. |
You will need to contact your host about this then.

Note that public_html isn't always the default web root. ;) Find out exactly what yours is from your host.
