Enable Gd on Godaddy Dedicated

I need help enabling GD on my Godaddy dedicated server. I know you have to uncomment the php.ini fine in your root and such, but I cant get it done for some reason. I tried it using core ftp and it didnt work, so then I tried it through ssh and I couldnt get logged in.

Please help... I need it badly.

Best thing to do is contact their support and ask them you might not have access.

Believe me, I have contacted godaddy like 12 times now. They have that policy that if you use a dedicated server, it is up to you to find out what is wrong. They keep telling me there is nothing wrong with the login, but yet i cant get in.

When I tryto type a password it wont even let me type.

ask them to reset your root password.

No... I know the root password and I even verified it with them.

Do you think I could get someone here to do it for $5 or something?

You need to recompile php with GD support, or if its a windows server uncomment the gd lib under the modules section in php.ini and restart IIS/Apache

No need to recompile PHP, just simply install the libgd with yum or pear; however, it requires root access.

Umm yeah mind explaining... I am not very good with server management, only with websites and coding.

It is a red hat linux server.

Thanks guys...

It would be better to compile it directly into php.

Cyk do you have any sort of manger, like cpanel/whm, ensim, etc?
