drop down in menu bar not always dropping down...

Help! I modified my header a while back and am having sporadic problems. The menus (such as Search) don't always drop down - I don't understand why this would happen only on certain pages. In Home, Forums and inside any given thread, it works fine. But when on a Search Results page or in the PM inbox, none of the menus drop down. I'm pulling my hair out here, don't know what to look for since it works in some but not all.

any ideas? where to start?

Most of the time this problem is caused by a problem in your navbar template.

Try reverting your navbar template and see if the problem persists. You may wish to export your style first the you have a back up of it just in case.

you were absolutely right! thanks!

now, do you have some clue what type of error causes this? some sort of syntax error? or a bad call? I have not actually modified this template since I bought the site, so I'm not sure what I'm looking at/for.

Thanks!

I have the same promlem sometimes.
I found out that it is when the side isn´t ready loaded.
I don´t know why it happens.
Maybe I need to look in my navbar too.

if it's a custom style, the "designer" probably moved the popup menu code out of the navbar template ... reverting the template as suggested above made the code available

evesve,
the dropdown menus will not work until the whole page has loaded

ok, so is it ok to revert the navbar template code or will that likely cause another issue?

it all depends on how "customized" your style is

do as Kerry-Anne suggested ...
download a backup of your style first and than revert the template
