Denying access to a certain are based on something like gender

How would I do that? I am trying to make girls/boys bathrooms and stuff. I was hoping for there to be a way to make it so that only boys can get into the boys bathrooms and vice vera. It would be nice if this could be done to a thread, but I can do it for a forum, too.

Miss technical says

There are NO regulations between guys and girls bathrooms. Find me ANY law that prohibits ANYONE from entering EITHER bathroom and I'll pay you $100 :) haha

What?

I just want it so that girls cant go into the guys bathrooms and stuff...is that illegal?

I think she is talking about real life not on the forums. Just create two secondary usergroups. One male. One female. Deny access to everybody except the males for your male areas and the females for your female areas.

Hmmm, not a bad idea! Thanks!

Is that possible to deny people for threads? Or would I have to make a forum?

It would be easier at a forum level. But, you could do it at the thread level if you adapted a thread prefix mod.

but then how do u seperate females and males into there groups if you have a large members base wud take ages or is there a way

You could write a quick script to query the gender field and then put the user in the appropriate groups. Run the script once. If it's primary groups and not secondary groups, a simple query would work.
