Poster information on left side of page?
 
phpBB has their poster information in a left side column to the left of the post while vBulletin has it on the top.

This is probably a simple hack so how do I modify it to look like phpBB?

In your Admin Control Panel go to vBOptions > Style & Language Settings > Use Legacy (vertical) Postbit. Set this to YES.

Please note that you will need to apply any changes to your postbit_legacy template for them to show up instead of your postbit template once this setting has been changed.

And there are modifications/hacks available to make the choice of postbit a User selectable item in the UserCP.
