Custom profile flag?
 

I'm brand new at vB (just bought my license yesterday) so please forgive me if I miss something obvious :).

I have a business directory on my site and I'd like to identify those who have a listing in the directory with a little flag, icon or link in their profile to their listing, as a perk of listing.

Before yesterday I used phpBB and so I'm familiar with the little icons in the bottom of each person's post, where vB does this via a drop down on the username as far as I can see.

Is there a way to use some kind of custom profile flag that's visable in the post (no clicking on username to see it required) and be able to link that to a different link for each user? I've searched and found a couple of ones that use usergroups to have added icons, but I'm not sure using usergroup permissions would allow me to set an icon that has a different link for each user?
