automatically adding a new user profile field
 

Is it possible to use the product XML file to add a new profile field, similar to the way you can add a new template or phrase. It seems crazy to have to keep telling users to manually add a new field in order to use a particular plugin. I know you could do raw SQL as part of the installation, but I'm wondering if there is a cleaner approach.

And along that note, is there a schema for the product XML file? Or a real data dictionary for all the possible values of <phrasetype fieldname="???"> for example.

Anybody have an answer on this? I'm looking to do the same thing...
